Parable Systems LLC

AI platforms people can actually ship on.

Agentic workflows, AI-native SDLC, and developer experience— built for product and engineering orgs past the demo stage. Fractional Head of AI / CAIO when you need senior judgment without the headcount theater.

What we do

Three ways to engage.

Clear scope. Plain English. Designed so your teams leave with something they can run—not a slide deck that dies in a shared drive.

01

AI Platform Reality Check

A focused audit of where you are—tooling, architecture, governance, and team readiness— versus what it takes to ship agentic products safely and repeatedly. You get a prioritized roadmap and the hard calls named out loud.

02

2-week agentic delivery sprint

A time-boxed engagement to stand up a real workflow: agents, evals, SDLC hooks, and DevX so engineers can ship the next one without us. Proof over promises.

03

Fractional CAIO / Head of AI

Ongoing senior leadership for AI strategy, platform decisions, vendor selection, and org design. The judgment of a Head of AI on a retainer—without waiting a year to hire one.

Who it's for

Past demos. Before the mess hardens.

Best fit for product and engineering organizations that already know AI is strategic— and need platforms, process, and leadership that hold up in production.

  • Stage Series A–C startups and similar growth orgs
  • Domains Vertical AI, SaaS, healthtech, and creative tools
  • Signal AI is already in the mix; production delivery is the bottleneck—not another pilot
  • Partners Founders, CTOs, Heads of Eng, and operators who want a counterpart who has built AI-native platforms

About

Built by someone who has shipped AI-native systems at scale.

Joshua Ruis founded Parable Systems to help organizations turn AI ambition into platforms their teams can actually operate. As Director of Engineering at Series, he led engineering across multiple studios shipping AI-first Netflix games (60+ engineers) and later took on the CTO's responsibilities.

There he built Run / Run World—Series’ AI-native platform for games, apps, and content— and created run.studio, the web-first AI game development environment on top of it (coding agents + preview + SDK, with docs and prompts tuned so AI succeeds more often than raw tools alone). He also led company-wide AI enablement, rewrote SDLC for an AI world (including a risk/blast-radius PR system), and built a multi-agent Software Factory that could take a requirement from Slack through specialized agents into preview and PR.

  • Director of Engineering, Series (Run / Run World / run.studio)
  • Technical Director, Wizards of the Coast
  • Senior Software Engineering Manager, Optum / UHG—48+ engineers across 8 teams

Parable is a solo practice with specialists brought in per engagement. Based in Minnesota; works with teams nationally.

Proof

From people Josh has built with.

Josh joined Series in a period of hyper growth. Our projects, and engineering team, grew by an order of magnitude in a few short months, and Josh was brought in to help tame the chaos. He was able to lead us through a period of extraordinary change, and develop repeatable engineering processes and systems for attracting and retaining exceptional engineering talent. After that, he went on to become an AI evangelist at the company, co-leading a full company retrofit to embrace the future of AI-enabled work.

Pany Haritatos CEO, Series

If you’re looking for an excellent technical leader—someone with not just domain expertise but knows how to work effectively across an organization at all levels—Josh is someone you need to talk to. Josh’s ability to think 3–4 steps ahead to highlight problems that others hadn’t seen yet and help figure out solutions helped tremendously on several projects.

Rohith Thumati BD & strategy leader, media & games

Josh is an absolute unicorn in the Development world. He’s a strong communicator and empathetic leader, all while providing highly skilled technical insight. With working on a ton of projects (with very non-technical people), Josh has a way of not keeping in a technical bubble; but stepping back and understanding how people, clients, and product ideas impact his technical decisions as an Architect.
